Why do you receive TWO envelopes for every invitation?

You’ve spent so much time deciding on the perfect invitations, and you’ll want to make sure they reach your guests in pristine condition.

 

That’s why our invitations include two envelopes, an inner and an outer. According to tradition and etiquette, all the most important invitations and correspondence has been mailed in two envelopes. Why should YOUR wedding invitations be mailed in anything less elegant?

Here’s all you need to know about the two envelopes!

The Inner Envelopes

• They hold your invitations and enclosure cards.

• They’re addressed with the names of everyone included on the invitation. You may address the inner envelopes less formally than the outer envelopes, if you wish (example: “Grandma Ruth” or “Michael, Kelly, Katie and Patrick”).

• Go for a great touch of color and order inner envelopes lined with a color that matches the design of your invitation or ink color!

The Outer Envelopes

• They hold the inner envelopes with your invitation and enclosure cards inside.

• They’re addressed with the more formal title and mailing address of the guest (example: “Mrs. Ruth McLaughlin” or “Mr. and Mrs. Michael McLaughlin and Family”).

• Order your outer envelopes printed with your return address to save addressing time and to make the envelopes coordinated with your invitation.  We can also print the front of your inner & outer envelopes for you!

Tip: Be sure to have a fully assembled invitation ensemble, with all enclosure cards and both envelopes included, weighed at your post office to determine correct postage.
