So, you've been dreaming of a classic, elegant wedding? The timeless invitations…the subdued color scheme of white, ecru, silver or gold…the beautiful, tone-on-tone flowers…all the details are coming together!
But remember — even the most classic, elegant weddings can benefit from a "pop" of color! Adding color to your day, whether a tiny touch or a bold splash, will make your wedding even more memorable and will tie your entire event together.
Here are some of my favorite ways to add color to a wedding.
Invitations:
• Have your invitations printed in colorful ink, or go for silver or gold for sparkle
• Choose colorful lined inner envelopes to set a classic, yet colorful, tone for your wedding as soon as guests receive your invitations
• Your invitation may be classic and printed in timeless black ink — but imagine the impact of a colorful ribbon surrounding it
Ceremony:
• Add a colorful personal touch to your ceremony with a unity candle personalized in a pretty color
• Choose a ring pillow embroidered in a thread color that matches your bridesmaids' dresses
• Have your flower girl scatter colorful, silk rose petals on the aisle
• Invite guests to sign a colorful guest book
• If your color scheme and bridesmaids' attire is subdued, add a punch of color to their bouquets with colorful flowers, and accent pew bows with colorful blooms, too
Reception:
• Make a statement with colorful table number cards
• Choose personalized napkins in a color that will brighten your tables
• Go colorful with your favors — matchbooks, favor boxes printed in a bright color and tied with ribbon, etc.
• Place colorful treats inside clear favor boxes and heart-shaped favor tins with clear lids
• Make your cake the centerpiece of your event by accenting it with colorful flowers or go totally bold and have it frosted in a bright color
